Klimt

Golden geometry after Gustav Klimt, translated into wood and inlaid by hand. An homage cut in marquetry, not a print laid on a lid.

The pattern

An homage in wood

The geometry that runs through Klimt's golden period, spirals, squared fields, tight ornamental blocks, was redrawn for the fretsaw and cut from woods in walnut and mahogany tones. Every element is a separate piece of timber, set into the surface by hand and finished under five coats of lacquer. There is no printing and no transfer anywhere on the piece.

Klimt is currently a single piece, a jewelry box in three sizes, lined in velvet and closed with a lock and key. The interior can be fitted with trays for watches, cufflinks, pens or sunglasses, or left open.

Seven patterns, one bench

Each collection is a different drawing cut by the same hands, in the same Sorrento workshop.
