The Sakura Jewelry Box carries a cherry blossom marquetry across the lid, cut from naturally toned woods and inlaid by hand. It is the only piece in the workshop offered in three finishes, black, nut and white, each setting the blossom against a different ground.
Available in three sizes, each lined in velvet and closed with a lock and key. The interior can be configured with fitted trays for watches, cufflinks, pens or sunglasses, a poker set on the Large, or left as open jewelry storage.
Each box leaves the same Sorrento workshop it was cut in. Seven woods, dyed and cut with the fretsaw, are laid piece by piece into the surface, then sealed under coats of hand-polished lacquer. Three generations on, the method has not changed.
